MPAC - Municipal Property Assessment Corporation - This is the body who calculates the value of homes across Ontario for tax purposes. Order various useful information about your home from this site, or start the process to dispute an assessment.

Tarion New Home Warranty Program - Thinking of buying a new home? There's great information here about the new home warranty used in Ontario and how it applies to new homes.

GOHBA - Greater Ottawa Home Builders Association - Find a home builder registered in Ottawa. I also keep a great list of professionals, including builders, that I can connect you with!

Landlord and Tenant Board - Are you thinking of becoming a landlord or tenant? Know what your rights and responsibilities are in each role.

Land Transfer Tax Calculator - Ottawa - Paid when purchasing a home, this tool lets you know what cost is added to the total price of the home. First time buyers have a tax credit applied on closing that negates part or all of this cost for eligible buyers. Search "First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit" to find the most up-to-date information, as the amount sometimes changes.

Mortgage Calculator - There are many available, including on all listing pages on my site. Here's the link to the CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) calculator. Be aware that entering personal information on any bank page may lead to a follow-up contact from that bank.

CMHC - Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation - Statistics Page (Canada-Wide and Major Canadian Centres) - Unbiased stats on what's happening in your local and provincial market, rentals as well as sales.

CMHC - Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation - Publications for Homeowners - Most of these are available for free download and are amazing resources for the new or prospective homeowner!

GeoOttawa - A unique Ottawa map with loads of useful information, including flood plains, heritage designations, zoning (with links to the bylaws) and the nearest fire station or school, just to name a few things! It will even tell you who your city councillor is and what day your garbage is picked up!

MyService Ottawa - A Branch of the City of Ottawa Website - A portal where you can get information on various city services and pay property taxes and city utilities all in one place!

Residents Page - City of Ottawa - Pay a parking ticket, browse recreation programs and more!

Ottawa Public Library - Ottawa has a fantastic library network, with a great pp for reserving and managing materials. You can even sign out musical instruments! The direct link to their app page is can be reached directly here.

Getting Around Ottawa

OC Transpo - Want to know how long it will take to get from your new place to your office every morning, and home each afternoon? The trip planner on the site or on the excellent OC Transpo App is a great tool to get an idea of the extent to which your commute will affect your lifestyle.

LRT - Ottawa introduced a new light rail system in 2019. This website is linked to an app that allows you to plan your trip and become familiar with the new light rail system.

Taxis, Uber and Lyft - Ottawa is home to a number of taxi companies, and is an Uber-friendly city.

Public Board - OCDSB - Ottawa-Carleton District School Board - The public board has a variety of programs from K-12. One very useful tool here is the school locator map. Type your address and preferred program, and find out what school catchment youd be in.
