Fallingbrook Community Highlight

Fallingbrook Community Highlight

Welcome to Fallingbrook! You are going to love the amazing schools, family-friendly community, beautiful greenspaces and parks, and easy access to necessities and amenities!

Location

Fallingbrook is located at the East end of Orleans and is bordered by the Ottawa River and Old Montreal Road to the North, Tenth Line Road to the West, Innes Road to the South, and the community of Springridge and Trim Road to the East.

Transportation

Commuting from and within Fallingbrook is easy as it is car, public transport, and bike-friendly. It’s close enough to Ottawa to be a short commute if you work in the city, either by the Queensway just to the North or by public transport, with lots of local and express busses available.  With the extension of the LRT coming in a few years, that commute will be even easier!

Housing

Fallingbrook was farmland until 1985 when development started, and it is still ongoing today! The majority of homes in this area are detached, semi-detached, or townhomes.

Schools and Child Care

Fallingbrook has plenty of education options available, including 6 public schools, 6 private and Catholic schools, with both Francophone and bilingual options assigned to the area.

The public schools include:

If you have children that are not old enough to attend school, this area offers plenty of home daycares, playgroups, and parent meet-up options as well.

Parks and Recreation

Fallingbrook has lots of green space and outdoor recreation options for every season!

There are a total of 10 parks in the area with plenty more in surrounding communities, the largest being Fallingbrook Park which includes bike and walking trails, splash pad, playground, and portions of Taylor Creek. The other parks in the area include Apollo Crater Park, Watters Park, Varennes Park, Marcel Lalande Park, Gardenway Park, Valin Park, Des Pionniers Park, and Ray Friel Park.

Speaking of Ray Friel Park, the recreation centre by the same name is the largest in Eastern Ottawa and is a central hub of the community. This massive recreational complex features 3 National Hockey League sides arenas, a fitness centre with over 20,000 square feet of state-of-the-art training equipment, a wave pool and whirlpool, a sauna, physiotherapy clinic, a restaurant, coffee shop, and more!

If you travel just out of Fallingbrook to the north, you can visit the Ottawa gem that is Princess Louise Falls, take a little trip over to Proulx Sugar Bush and Berry Farm, or plan a beach day at Petrie Island.

There are a total of 2 baseball diamonds, 6 playgrounds, 2 sledding hills, 4 sports fields, 3 basketball courts, 2 outdoor rinks, 1 splash pad, and 7 tennis courts in total in the Fallingbrook area.

Amenities

Orleans is like a city of its own. Fallingbrook has everything you need for shopping and amenities with both big box store options and smaller, locally owned stores in the area. Most of the shopping in this area is centered around Tenth Line Road, Innes Road, and St. Joseph Boulevard.

Some of the local options include The Corner Bar and Grill, OCCO Kitchen & Bar, Persis Grill, and The Lunchbox.

Character

Fallingbrook is the perfect choice for families looking for a quiet, calm, and family-friendly community with great schools and lots of recreational options. The community association of Fallingbrook plays a big part in maintaining the neighbourhood and advocating for its residents. They put out a great newsletter and host events like a Canada Day celebration and garage sales, as well as maintain the outdoor rinks.
