Community and Giving Back

Trading Real Estate for Stand-Up Comedy to Support Local Families

On March 26th, 2026, I am stepping on stage at the Westin Ottawa for Laugh for the Cure, a stand-up comedy fundraiser benefiting the Ottawa Cancer Foundation. I’ll be performing a five-minute set mentored by the legendary Alastair McAlastair to reach my goal of raising $10,000 for vital cancer support Ottawa families need during their darkest moments.

Now for something a little different. . .

On my team, our core philosophy has always been “People over Properties”. We believe that our success in the Ottawa market is built on social capital and deep local roots, which is why we’ve always prioritized giving back—from supporting the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation to our annual community events.

This year, however, I’m doing something a little… different.

On March 26th, 2026, I’ll be stepping on stage at the Westin Ottawa for Laugh for the Cure. If you know me, you know I love to talk, but stand-up comedy is a whole new beast. I’ve been paired up with the incredibly talented Alastair McAlastair, one of Ottawa’s finest professional comics, who is helping me find the humor in my own life to craft a five-minute set.

Why the Ottawa Cancer Foundation?

The Ottawa Cancer Foundation provides front-line cancer support that is truly a lifeline for our neighbours. Their model of care is unique to our city: they provide free counseling, support programs, and system navigators who help families find their way through the overwhelming complexity of a diagnosis.

These services ensure that:

  • Individuals and families get immediate support when they need it most.

  • No one has to walk the terrifying road of cancer alone.

  • Vital wellness programs—from nutrition workshops to art therapy—remain accessible to everyone in Ottawa, free of charge.

My Goal: $10,000

I’ve set a target to raise $10,000 for this incredible cause. It’s equal parts exciting and terrifying, but the heart of Laugh for the Cure is a powerful message: it is important to find moments of joy and laughter even in life’s most difficult times.

As your “People-First Realtor,” I’ve spent my career helping families through high-stakes financial transitions. Now, I’m asking you to help me support families going through a much more difficult journey.

How You Can Help:

  1. Donate Today: Every dollar goes directly toward funding local support services. You can contribute via my personal fundraising page here.

  2. Spread the Word: Share this post or my donation link with your own network. You never know who cancer has touched, and every dollar counts!

  3. Cheer Me On: If you want to see if I “bomb” or get a standing ovation, grab a ticket and join us for a night of laughter and hope!

Thank you for being part of my network and for supporting the community that makes our work so rewarding.
